Case Study – Closed Chilled Water Loop
A large (6000 gallon) chilled water loop had experienced microbiologically induced corrosion due to the presence of ethylene glycol introduced when cooling coils were brought on line in the spring. While cleaning, flushing and retreating the system improved the situation, large amounts of iron remained and it was suspected that organic contamination remained in the system. ProMoss™ was selected to be used in this application to clean and remove the iron from the system, stabilize the chill water pH and assist in dispersing organic contamination.
